NTR Wind Energy Business, Wind Capital Group, Announces Sale of 400MW Wind Farm Project

NTR plc, a leading international developer and operator in Renewable Energy and Sustainable Waste Management, announced today that its US based wind energy business, Wind Capital Group, has sold a Minnesota based wind farm project, “Bent Tree”, to Wisconsin Power and Light Co. (WPL), a subsidiary of Alliant Energy Corporation.

The “Bent Tree” Wind Farm project is a construction-ready site, with a capacity of up to 400MW. Wisconsin Power and Light expects to commission the project’s initial 200MW phase by the end of 2010.

The terms of the transaction, which were contemplated at the time of NTR’s initial investment in Wind Capital Group, have not been disclosed.
